Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026. Balance Review is built and operated by Tech Clarity Solutions LLC (doing business as TechClarity.ai). This page describes current data practices for the app.

1. What we collect

Balance Review stores the information you enter yourself — your email address, account names, balances, payment dates, APRs, and imported transaction records. If you choose to connect a bank (optional), the app also stores the data that sync retrieves: current balances, pending transactions, and issuer-reported terms such as APR, statement balance, and next payment date. Bank sign-in happens on Plaid's secure widget — your bank credentials never touch Balance Review. Consent to this collection, processing, and storage is captured by checkbox when you create your account and recorded with a timestamp; connecting a bank is a separate, explicit authorization made through Plaid.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to power the app: calculating payment recommendations, tracking statement cycles, projecting balances, and sending the alert and digest emails you can switch on or off in Settings. We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with unrelated third parties.

3. Bank sync and Plaid

Bank connections are read-only: the app can see balances and transactions but can never move money. Access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and are only ever used server-side. Disconnecting a bank in Settings revokes access with the provider and deletes the stored token. Data retrieved through Plaid is also subject to Plaid's end-user privacy policy.

4. Data storage

Data is stored in an authenticated cloud database with per-user row-level security — only you can read or write your accounts, snapshots, scheduled payments, and bank links. Sensitive bank tokens are additionally encrypted and never exposed to the browser.

5. Cookies and analytics

Balance Review uses only the session cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or similar services.

6. Your choices

You can update or export your information from within the app at any time. The Settings page includes a "Delete my account" option that permanently purges everything you've stored — accounts, snapshots, patterns, imports, settings, and your login — and revokes any bank connections at the provider. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
